Bolt, screw, rivet and weld connection calculation
Fasteners in aluminium systems are often chosen by habit. We calculate bolts, screws, rivets and welds to the relevant standard and propose safer, economic solutions.
Why it matters
Aluminium differs from steel: pull-out and bearing in thin walls can govern, and welding reduces strength in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). Stainless bolts on aluminium need isolation against galvanic corrosion.
We check bracket-profile, profile-profile and steel-aluminium connections and verify critical details with FEM.
Systems
- Stainless and galvanised bolted joints
- Self-drilling and tapping screws
- Blind rivets
- Welded aluminium and steel brackets
Standards
- EN 1999-1-1
- EN 1993-1-8
- EN 1993-1-4
- EN 1090
- ISO 3506

Bolts, Screws & Welds
How many screws does an aluminium profile need?
It depends on load, wall thickness, screw diameter and edge distances. In thin walls the governing value is usually pull-out from the profile, not the screw itself.
